CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE.
At TerraMai, sourcing isn’t just about finding wood- it’s about finding the right wood, responsibly and ethically. We’ve spent decades building relationships with trusted partners worldwide to secure high-quality materials while prioritizing environmental impact, ethical harvesting, and long-term availability.
Our approach ensures consistency, performance, and beauty across every project, setting us apart in an industry where sourcing can be unpredictable. From reclaimed wood to responsibly managed forests, we curate materials that meet the highest standards.
Explore our different sourcing methods below.

Water Reclaimed
Water Reclaimed wood comes from submerged standing dead trees in lakes and reservoirs, preserved for decades by natural elements.

Responsibly Sourced
Responsibly sourcing wood ensures that the timber is harvested in a way that protects ecosystems, supports biodiversity, and promotes long-term forest health.

Orchard Reclaimed
Orchard Reclaimed is sourced from fruit and nut trees at the end of their life cycle that would otherwise be cleared and burned.

Pre-Consumer Reclaimed
Pre-Consumer Reclaimed wood is salvaged from secondary manufacturing processes, such as sawmills, where off-cuts and surplus materials are typically discarded.

Post-Consumer Reclaimed
Post-Consumer Reclaimed wood is sourced from structures that have reached the end of their life cycle, such as old barns, fencing, warehouses, shipping dunnage.

Forest Floor Salvage
Forest Floor Salvage materials are collected from the forest floor. Dead trees and remnants that would otherwise become kindling for forest fires are turned into flooring, panels, and cladding.
Most TerraMai woods are certified recycled according to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the world’s premier forest conservation organization (TerraMai’s FSC certification number is SCS-COC-001014).
TerraMai products can also help a project earn points toward Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and WELL Building Standard credits. Which credits, specifically, depends on the product and the project. Many of our materials have been tested and are in compliance with VOC test requirements for the CDPH V1.2 standard.
Let’s Create something EXTRAORDINARY.
