Cumaru, also known as 'Brazilian Teak', is resistant to rot and decay and has excellent durability making it a prime decking choice. This high density hardwood is tough, strong and has stellar weatherability properties.

Species: Dipteryx odorta

Colors: Beautiful "teak brown" that, left unfinished, ages gracefully into a grey patina

Net Dimensions: 7/8" thick x 5" wide x 8' to 12' random lengths

Millwork: Surfaced four sides (S4S). Eased four edges (E4E) at 1/8" radius. 

Character: Very clean with an occasional pin knot

Hardware: TerraMai recommends face screwing deck boards directly to joists using 2-1/4" #7 Stainless Steel deck screws. Two screws per board per joist = 5.7 screws/SF w 16" OC Joist Spacing. TerraMai can provide optional hardwood plugs cut from the same species to hide screw heads.

Finish: Available unfinished or prefinished with exterior oil or Sansin exterior protective finish on all faces and edges. 2 Sansin options:

  • Clear Protective Sealer provides added moisture protection while allowing the wood to grey over time
  • Natural Tone Protective Stain & Sealer protects the wood from UV exposure and moisture while also maintaining color
