Angelique is resistant to rot and decay and has excellent durability making it a prime siding choice. This sustainably sourced, tropical hardwood is tough and strong with stellar weatherability properties. TerraMai Water Reclaimed™ woods have been lying perfectly preserved but submerged for decades in reservoirs created by hydroelectric damming of rivers in the tropics. We are carefully removing, drying and milling this lost and forgotten resource as an environmentally viable tropical hardwood siding and decking option.
Source: Reclaimed from reservoirs in the tropics.
Species: Dicorynia guianensis
Colors: Beautiful "teak brown" that, left unfinished, ages gracefully into a soft, grey patina
Net Dimensions:
- Rainscreen profile: 4-1/4” wide (including 1/4" reveal) x 5/8" thick x 4’ - 10’ random lengths.
- Shiplap profile: 4-1/4" wide (including 1/4" reveal) x 3/4" thick x 4' - 10' random lengths.
Millwork: Surfaced four sides (S4S).
Character: Very clean mixed grain with an occasional pin knot and/or marine borer hole up to 1/16" (1.5mm). As with most exterior woods, over time and with exposure to the elements, Angelique will develop shallow surface checking. This does not affect structural performance of the material.
Finish: Available with Clear Protective Sealer or Color Protecting Exterior Finish on all faces, edges, and ends.
- Clear Protective Sealer provides added moisture protection while allowing the wood to develop a silver/grey natural patina over time.
- Color Protecting Exterior Finish protects the wood from UV exposure and moisture to help maintain the original color of the wood.
Certification: Water Reclaimed material - TerraMai Certified as sustainably harvested
