We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Specialist to support our sales organization by nurturing leads, qualifying opportunities, and driving product sales with prospects. This is primarily an inside sales role with limited travel focused on outbound and inbound prospecting, lead follow-up, providing product information to customers, quoting projects and ultimately selling than managing projects.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, enjoys consultative conversations, and is comfortable working with a high volume of calls, emails, and CRM activity.
The ideal candidate will be based within commuting distance of our headquarters in Southern Oregon. Some travel may be required but this is primarily an inside sales position.

About the Role
We are seeking a technically knowledgeable and results-oriented Sales Specialist to grow TerraMai’s sales of decking, siding, and exterior panel products. This is a quota-carrying sales role responsible for selling directly to architects, landscape architects, designers, contractors, and developers.
The ideal candidate has a passion for building products, understands how wood performs in exterior applications, and can guide customers through technical considerations such as species selection, durability, finish options, and installation methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Quota Ownership: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for exterior product categories.
- Direct Selling: Engage decision-makers (architects, designers, contractors, developers) via calls, emails, and virtual meetings to drive specification and project adoption of TerraMai exterior products. Some travel may be required.
- Technical Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert on exterior wood, educating customers on durability, weathering, finishes, installation details, and maintenance best practices.
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage a strong opportunity pipeline in Salesforce, providing accurate forecasts and closing dates.
- Project management from bidding to completion: Prepare quotes, answer technical questions, and close business to achieve quota.
- Account Nurturing: Develop long-term relationships with repeat customers and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with estimating, operations, and marketing to deliver samples, proposals, and ensure seamless project execution.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and share insights on market trends with the product development team. This role will be influential in regard to what new products will be introduced into our markets.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in sales or business development within building materials, exterior cladding, decking, or other construction products.
- Working knowledge of wood species, finishes, and performance characteristics for exterior applications (experience with sustainable or reclaimed wood a plus).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a large volume of outreach and follow-up.
- Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
