Ames Hotel - Reclaimed Naked Teak Flooring
Project: Ames Hotel - Woodward Restaurant
Location: Boston
Product: Naked Teak Engineered Flooring
Designer: Rockwell Group
TerraMai's unique, naturally weathered teak engineered flooring sets the stage for the romantic atmosphere of the Woodward Restaurant in the new Ames Hotel in Boston.
TerraMai worked with Rockwell Group to achieve their design intent for the new space. The result was an innovative flooring product for this eclectic space that manages to be at once both vintage and modern.
The ability to collaborate with firms like Rockwell Group (perhaps the hottest design firm in the country right now) on projects of this sophistication puts TerraMai in a class by itself in the reclaimed wood industry.
The Ames Hotel is owned by the legendary Morgans Hotel Group. The firm, founded by Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell of Studio 54 fame, is credited with starting the 'boutique hotel' revolution when it opened its first property, the Morgans Hotel in New York in 1984.
Morgans is known for working with world renowned designers, such as David Rockwell. The company owns, or partially owns, twelve hotels in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Las Vegas and London.
