Purpleheart, is resistant to rot and decay and has excellent durability making it a prime siding choice. This sustainably sourced, tropical hardwood is tough and strong with stellar weatherability properties. TerraMai Reservoir Reclaimed™ woods have been lying perfectly preserved but submerged for decades in reservoirs created by hydroelectric damming of rivers in the tropics. We are carefully removing, drying and milling this lost and forgotten resource as an environmentally viable tropical hardwood siding and decking option. Purpleheart is unique in that it does not grey with age and exposure to UV light like most wood but becomes a dark brown with a touch of purple.
