What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced project manager or superintendent from the commercial construction industry that has a passion for sustainable wood products. We are looking for a strong cultural fit with our small team. This position is based in our headquarters in Medford, Oregon. No remote candidates will be considered.
About the Role
The Project Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales growth by providing technical expertise and support to our sales team and clients. This position requires a strong understanding of wood products, construction methods, and sustainable building practices. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary technical resource for clients regarding TerraMai’s product offerings, including species, grades, finishes, installation methods, and performance characteristics.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies, provide technical input on proposals and bids, and assist in closing deals.
- Client Consultation: Conduct consultations with architects, designers, contractors, and homeowners to understand their project requirements and recommend appropriate wood solutions.
- Project Management: Manage the technical aspects of projects, including material take-offs, submittals, and coordination with project managers and installers.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TerraMai’s products, industry trends, and sustainable building practices. Participate in product training and development initiatives.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry professionals, and partners.
- Problem Solving: Address technical challenges and provide solutions to clients, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Contribute to market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
- CRM Management: Accurately track and manage client interactions, project details, and sales activities within the CRM system.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to visit clients, attend industry events, and support projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related field), Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as either a commercial construction project manager or superintendent (or related area)
- Strong understanding of wood products, construction methods, and sustainable building practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Passion for sustainable building and environmental responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reclaimed wood products.
- LEED AP accreditation.
- Familiarity with woodworking and millwork.
