TerraMai goes carbon neutral

TerraMai continues its tradition of leadership and innovation by becoming the first reclaimed wood company to go carbon neutral.

This represents one more step in TerraMai’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

TerraMai was founded on a commitment to sustainability in 1991. Although we only deal in reclaimed wood - a sustainable, recycled product – we are constantly looking for ways to be even more green.

We understand that carbon offset programs are not the ultimate solution to the world’s sustainability challenges. However, they do offer an accessible way for conscientious companies to mitigate the emissions necessary in the production and transport of goods.

Everything we acquire as consumers contains embodied energy to produce and ship – from apples to shoe laces to toothpaste and on and on. The opportunity for conscientious companies is to find innovative ways to neutralize those emissions, even if those solutions impact the immediate bottom line. Ultimately, how can we afford not to?

Sustainability is a core feature of TerraMai’s identity. We are continually looking for innovative applications for reclaimed wood – from solid reclaimed wood products, to engineered flooring and panel products. We are also continually searching for more sustainable ways to produce these products and bring them to market. Going carbon neutral represents one more step in that ongoing process.

It is products and solutions like these that make TerraMai the world’s leading reclaimed wood company.
