Description: Redwood – they don’t make it like
they used to. TerraMai’s reclaimed old-growth redwood comes
in grades and dimensions virtually unavailable new. We reclaim our
redwood from a variety of sources – from old wine tanks to
barns, bridges and other sources. Tank redwood is especially prized
for its clarity and dense grain. This material is excellent for
both interior and exterior application. Old-growth redwood is legendary
for its unique resistance to rot and decay. The beauty of old-growth
redwood makes it refined enough for the most sophisticated projects.
Our redwood ranges in character from clear, all-heart wine and olive
tank stock free of nail holes to barn redwood rich with nail holes,
bolt holes and other distinctive markings. Dimensions also range
from 2” wide material to 16” wide material. As-is,
much of this material shows the grayed-out weathered patina of antique,
exposed redwood. Once remilled, it reveals the deep, dense-grain
auburn beauty only found in old-growth redwood. Thankfully, most
of the remaining old-growth redwood trees are now protected, making
this unique material even more rare and precious.
