Sette Bello Restaurant Washington D.C.
TerraMai’s
Cinnamon Mix flooring is a key component of the recently
opened Sette Bello restaurant in Washington D.C. This opulently
appointed, yet sleek and sophisticated, restaurant was
designed by Griz Form Design (GFD) for owner Franco Nuschese.
The project provides another beautiful example of how reclaimed
wood compliments contemporary design.
Architects Griz Dwight and designer Keisha Banks used
our Cinnamon Mix not just on the floors but also as paneling
for various vertical surfaces, including the bar and fireplace
areas. The dark, rich character of the wood helps soften
the sharp edges and reflective surfaces of the metal and
glass also featured prominently in the design scheme. This
interplay of materials gives the 8,500 square foot space
a warm, inviting, lively atmosphere.
Our Cinnamon Mix flooring is made from various tropical
hardwood species reclaimed from untreated railway ties,
mine timbers and other sources in Southeast Asia. Because
the uct is made form exotic hardwoods – some
of the hardest woods on the planet – it is extremely
durable. This exceptional durability makes our Tropical
Mix floors ideal for commercial applications where heavy
foot traffic is a concern.
The project also benefits from highly skilled craftsmanship.
Forester Construction of Rockville, Maryland was the general
contractor on the project. The paneling work was done by
New Era Custom Design of Fredrick, Maryland and flooring
installed by Eastern Flooring of Landover, Maryland.
Sette Bello, which translates to “Lucky Seven,” serves
both Northern and Southern Italian food and beverages and
bills itself as “a restaurant where our guests can
broaden their knowledge of Italian food and wine.” Both
the establishment’s menu and design have received
glowing reviews. Nuschese also owns two other Washington
D.C. restaurants, Café Milano and Sette Osteria.
