Q&A with Far Coast designers Otto Design Group

TerraMai’s Golden Rose flooring adds warmth to the Coca-Cola Company’s chic but cozy Far Coast Café in Toronto. Our Golden Rose flooring is not only gorgeous but also extremely durable. Because it’s reclaimed, it’s also eco-friendly and rich with character.

All of these factors were important for the project’s design team, lead by Chris Boccella, Karl Peters and Jamie Montgomery of Otto Design Group’s Philadelphia office.

The Far Coast Café is one part of the Coca-Cola Company’s broad strategy to capitalize on the expanding hot-drink market pioneered by Starbucks. Other Far Coast Cafes are planned for other cities in various countries throughout the world.

TerraMai’s Golden Rose flooring is made from Asian Rosewood reclaimed from vintage structures slated for demolition in Southeast Asia. This wood, also called Narra, is prized for its beauty and durability. The color ranges from vibrant golds to deep rose and burgundy hues, creating a floor of singular brilliance.
