US Green Building Council (LEED Certification)
A non-profit organization developing a comprehensive set of incentives and guidelines encouraging US architects and builders to incorporate green building practices into every aspect of the building process.

Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility
A non-profit organization which has a sixteen year history of educating design professionals and the public about the protection of the natural and built environment, and the promotion of ecologically and socially responsible development.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
A non-profit organization helping to create a responsible, uniform internationally recognized standard for forestry practices through certification.

SmartWood Certification Program
A non-profit organization implementing FSC standards and providing a certification program to monitor “reclaimed and rediscovered” woods internationally.

Urban Ecology
This is one of the most venerable publications in the green building industry. Urban Ecology was founded in 1975 by visionary architects and activists who believed that cities should serve both people and nature. From the beginning, Urban Ecology has used urban planning, ecology, and public participation to help design and build healthier cities.
