Why trash it when you can torch it – and generate electricity in the process? TerraMai now ships its wood waste to the Burney Mountain Power cogeneration plant in nearby Burney, CA, where it is burned to generate electricity.

Sure, it would be cheaper for us to simply throw our wood waste in the dumpster, but contributing to landfills is not our style. In fact, it’s the exact opposite of what we’re about.

TerraMai also uses wood waste to fuel our kiln. The same heat that’s used to run our kiln will also be used to heat our mill, shop and warehouse in the coming winter months.
