TerraMai provides distinctive, one-of-a-kind wood
products for premiere commercial and residential projects throughout
the world. Our products include flooring, siding, paneling, decking,
beams and custom items to suit your imagination.
We travel the globe in search of the most beautiful
and unique reclaimed woods. All of our woods are reclaimed and all
are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
certified.
Our 16 years of experience, expertise and custom
capabilities enable us to serve as team partners throughout the
design and construction process. We can also help projects earn
LEED
credits.
Richard McFarland and Erika
Carpenter co-founded Jefferson Recycled Woodworks –
now TerraMai – in 1991. The goal for these former river guides
and ski bums was to save some trees, employ some local people and
support their family in the timber country of Northern California.
Since then, the company has evolved into a world leader in the reclaimed
wood industry.
Ken Westrick became a partner
in the company in 2002. A Silicon Valley veteran and with an MBA
from Stanford University, Ken brings both international business
experience to TerraMai and a genuine love of the outdoors, central
to the company s core commitment to conservation and green building.
TerraMai products can be found in projects by Patagonia,
Whole Foods Market, The Coca-Cola Company,
IBM, Stanford University, The
Ritz Carlton Company – just to name a few. In the
process, the company has saved more than a million board feet of
old-growth wood, much of it otherwise destined for landfills and
burn piles.
Three core principals guide our work:
• Produce the finest wood products
in the world.
• Promote conservation and sustainable
building.
• Partner on projects by offering
singular expertise and custom services.
